Kissimmee Farmers Market is in the Process of Going Online

By Helen Lovell-Wayne Kissimmee Macaroni Kid Publisher June 28, 2021

IG IFAS Extension, Osceola, and WhatsGood are collaborating on something new in Osceola County.  They have a couple of goals in mind.  These groups want to promote e sustainable food systems by supporting local family farmers.  Plus they are making it easier on the consumers by offering food and crafts online.

Traditional agriculture leaves a large carbon footprint.  Some of which can be reduced by simply not trucking the food 100's of miles to supermarkets.  So consumers can feel good about their purchases.  This is how it works when it opens.  Consumers will go to the online website and make orders.  Vendors deliver the consumer orders weekly on a certain day, time and location.

Here are a few conditions of the vendors 1) this market will only feature items grown in Kissimmee Valley 2) vendors will give 5% of their sales to cover the operation of the online market 3) Consumer will pay 5% of their purchase towards supporting this venture.

To participate as a vendor 1) Contact Jessica Sullivan (321) 697-3040 2) sign up for a free WhatsGood vendor account at https://app.sourcewhatsgood.com/.  3) connect it to a bank account 4) add products to your profile 5) connect your account to the Kissimme Valley Grown Online Farmers Market.
