I was recently asked to review the Chicco Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat. In exchange I was given a car seat to try out and keep. Having had 5 kiddos in car seats (and another on the way) I consider myself somewhat of a car seat connoisseur.
Of all the seats I have used over the years to keep my little ones safe, this one is the most unique! There have been the car seats that attach to strollers, the ones with lots and lots of padding, we even had a booster seat that had little lights the kids could turn on to see at night. Many car seats have interesting features, but I’m really enjoying the ones that Chicco incorporated into this product.
For starters this seat easily adjusts from being a newborn to infant seat to fitting toddlers. I set the removable seat part beside my other infant seat and discovered it is a little bigger, which allows for growing space. My 1 year old has well out-grown her infant seat, but fits really well in the Chicco Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat in the toddler (stage 2) position. See the orange handle-type piece? It literally just flips back and forth, making it so easy to adjust the seat and then the infant seat clicks in! Ah-maz-ing! I'm particularly loving this because any day now we will have a newborn and a young toddler. I will be able to use this seat for either of them and it will only take me a minute to adjust the straps and the stage to switch between them. You know, for those quick trips to the grocery store where I leave the rest of them home with Daddy but take the 1 that is clinging to me.
I also love that the Chicco Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat is really padded so baby feels secure. Some pads are removable to allow additional space as a newborn grows into an infant and takes up more of the seat. Another feature that I love is how easy it is to adjust the straps. Seriously… it takes a second. No re-looping them through a different level as baby grows. Just the pull of a cord and it’s done.
As a safety-conscious Mama I am always a little concerned about the seats securing into my vehicle just right. That’s not a concern with this seat as it even has a level to show me that it is positioned correctly. I also loved being able to use the seatbelt or tether straps for installation. Although I do believe tether straps are the safest way to go, not all of the seats in my van have tethers and sometimes I have to rearrange seats. It’s good to know that this one will still sit securely and snuggly regardless of which way I install it.
I would highly recommend this seat to any of my friends or readers! It's comfy, fits my vehicles well, easily adjusts and is super stylish!
