Osceola County COVID-19 Update:

Community Testing Site Opens at Osceola Heritage Park

Osceola County, Florida – As a rise in COVID-19 cases continues for Osceola County, residents wishing to be tested have a new community testing site available at Osceola Heritage Park.

The appointment-only, walk-up site is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM to provide free, rapid testing. The site opened on August 13. To make an appointment, visit https://curative.com/sites/31240.

COVID-19 testing also is available at the Florida Department of Health in Osceola and local pharmacies. Information on testing locations throughout Osceola is available at www.Osceola.org/covid19testing.   CVS and Walgreens will normally test  5-7 days after you place the call.  The department of health is normally two days.  With the department of health, you cannot be showing any signs of sickness when you test.  It must be done 5-10 after exposure.  All of these places test for free.  Other places like Centra Care test for a charge.

In addition, Osceola County residence can buy an at-home testing kit from a local pharmacy.  It is 75% accurate for negative results.

Officials continue to stress the importance of anyone who has not been vaccinated to consider getting a shot to reduce the spread of the COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccinations are widely available at local pharmacies – such as CVS, Walgreens, Publix, and Walmart; urgent care facilities, and provider offices. The Florida Department of Health also offers vaccinations at no cost. Find vaccination locations at www.Osceola.org/covid19vaccinations

The latest report available provides data for July 30 to August 5, showing an increase of 2,467 cases reported with 20.3 percent of new case positivity. Among Osceola residents 12 and older, 67 percent have received at least one shot.  The weekly report is published every Friday.
