Osceola County County Animal Services Needs Tempory Foster Parents

Osceola County Animal Services is looking for foster volunteers!  Volunteers open their hearts and homes to animals in need. They provide temporary care for the county's cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies in their Osceola County homes.  In most cases fostering assignments last from three to six weeks. keep in mind that some of the foster animals are special needs animals. Animals must be fostered for any of the following circumstances. Please let us know if you and your family have the skills needed to foster a special needs animal. 



1)The animal is currently too small for adoption 2)The animal is recovering from a procedure 3) The animal needs to be socialized 4)The animal needs to be hand-fed 5)The animal is displaying behavioral issues 6)Other assorted reasons. The foster need not worry about necessary supplies, food and medical needs at they will be provided by Osceola County Animal Services. Additionally, our team of staff and volunteers will be available for advice and moral support during your foster journey. 



In order to be able to foster an animal, all of the following criteria have to be met.

  1. The foster must be a resident of Osceola County and at least 18 years of age.
  2. The foster must have permission to foster an animal from the landlord
  3. The foster must have the permission of the family to foster.
  4. The foster must have personal transportation to and from the shelter for appointments.
  5. Lastly, the foster must take and pass the online foster learning module and complete the foster application.
